It’s a small, small, scrapbooking world!

It is truly amazing how many acquaintances and relationships I’ve formed since starting scrapbooking around ten years ago.  I bet many of you can say the same thing too when you think about it!  Between traveling to conventions around the country and participating on various message boards, (and too many swaps to count! LOL) I have made friends with people in cities all over the country.  And when I say friends, I mean the sort that I would feel completely comfortable contacting and making plans with to shop (scrapbook stores, of course), crop, or just have dinner.  And, there is no doubt in my mind, we would yak yak yak just like old friends.  I just LOVE that about scrapbookers!

Just this week two old scrapbook relationships arose in my life and I couldn’t have been more thrilled.  First, a couple of ladies, (Vivian and Jennifer) attended our Night of Decadence crop and introduced themselves to me and commented that we had a mutual friend.  This friend (Jodi) was a member of a message board that I participated in around 2001 and lived in Phoenix, AZ.  Jodi recommended they find The Scrapbook Pad and now, two more friendships are formed!  Thanks Jodi, now YOU need to visit Dallas!

Then, just yesterday, I received an email from a lady in Houston (Karen) inquiring about sign ups for our Donna Downey visit in August.  I recognized her name and she, too, had been a member of this same message board from over five years ago.  We chatted and now I look forward to meeting her in person in August.

I can honestly say that many of my closest friendships have been forged through scrapbooking.  Yep, scrapbooking has enriched my life in ways I would have never imagined when I bought that first piece of cardstock so many years ago.

See you at The Scrapbook Pad!  Jeanie :)    (May 11, 2007)
